AC Kamra Achieves Historic Landmark By Producing Sixteen JF-17 Thunder Block-II Aircraft In One Year

KAMRA --- Pakistan Aeronautical Complex, Kamra has achieved a remarkable milestone by producing sixteen JF-17 Thunder Block-II aircraft in the year 2015. The roll out ceremony of the 16th Block-II JF-17 Thunder aircraft was held at Pakistan Aeronautical Complex, Kamra, today. Mr. Rana Tanvir Hussain, Federal Minister of Defence Production was the Chief Guest of this historic ceremony.

Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force, along with Mr. Yang Ying President, China National Aero-Technology Import & Export Corporation (CATIC) also attended the ceremony. Senior government officials including ministers and secretaries of relevant ministries were also present at the occasion.

Air Marshal Javaid Ahmed, Chairman PAC Kamra, handed over the documents of 16th aircraft produced in the year 2015 to Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force. PAC also handed over the first JF-17 aircraft to PAF after complete inspections and structural assessment.

This important step would form the basis for future overhaul cycle of JF-17 fleet.

The Air Chief, while speaking at the occasion said that Allah almighty has been very kind on us that within a short span of time we could overcome the challenges faced by us in terms of non-state actors and terrorism. He hoped that peace process would bring stability and prosperity in the region.

He said that such is the capability and resolve of our nation that we would be able to achieve the target of 20 to 24 aircraft per year. He further said that we would make sure that JF-17 Thunder defends the nation in most befitting manner and also spreads the message of peace to the rest of the world.

While speaking at the occasion, the Chief Guest lauded the efforts by PAC personnel in achieving the milestones of JF-17 program. He reaffirmed the commitment of Pakistani government to promote self-reliance in defence production and also thanked the government of China for its unrelenting support.

Earlier, Air Marshal Javaid Ahmed, Chairman PAC Kamra, presented the program review and highlighted the salient aspects of co-production project.
