US Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Jovanovich and Director General of the SC “UkrOboronProm” (UOP) Roman Romanov held a meeting during which discussed Ukraine’s military-industrial complex reform, launched by UOP in 2016.
During the meeting, UOP management and US Embassy delegation discussed aspects of international management practices that allow developing a clear modern management structure, establishing common rules for international investors and attracting foreign capital. The parties also discussed the UOP audit by internationally recognized companies, providing a clear picture for international partners.
Special attention was paid to cooperation expansion between UOP and private enterprises for implementation of import substitution program, more than 350 small and medium businesses are involved in implementation of import substitution program as of today.
During the meeting, Ambassador and UOP management discussed the use of modern business approaches, including analysis of the efficiency of UOP enterprise management using KPI.
UOP management and US Embassy delegation also raised the issue of international industrial cooperation, including the project on establishing observational stations in ATO area. One of those is already operating outside Mariupol and provides radar and optical-electronic observation of air and ground targets at the distance of 40 km, online analysis and prompt threat notification.
Also, the US Ambassador was informed about the progress of the project on domestic production of assault rifles based on American M-16, cooperation between UOP SE “Production Association” Karpaty ” and American company” Delphi “, which one of the largest automotive manufacturers in the world, other projects.
