Ukroboronprom will Create New Consolidated Cybersecurity Center in Ukraine

UKROBORONPROM SE STIF “Ukrinmash” began preparations for the creation of a single center for cybersecurity. The project will engage Turkish company Havelsan consultants, NTU KPI specialists and NATO information security specialists.

Havelsan presentation on organization of the largest cybersecurity center in Turkey was represented on April 4, as a part of cooperation in cyber security, experience exchange and coordination of works in future. The current center unites over 200 specialists, protecting against cyber attacks both private and public companies and institutions.

“10 years ago, we created the most advanced cyber security center in Turkey. Within the framework of Ukrainian-Turkish cooperation, we are ready to provide advice on creating even better project,” said Havelsan, director for cyber security.

Representatives of NSDC, Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Security State Service, Special Communication Service, Cyber Police Department, Cyber Security Academy and computer emergency response team CERT Cys, as well as UKROBORONPROM and SE STIF “Ukrinmash” management took part in active discussion during the event.

In addition, “white” “DCUA” hackers under the supervision of Mykola Il’yin – according to 2016 results they topped the world rankings in the field of cybersecurity – will provide counselling assistance in creating a cyber security center. “The whole process will consist of a number of stages and the first one is creating a team of professionals, united by one common idea” – said Denys Gurak, UOP Deputy Director General for Foreign Economic Activity.

“Ukraine has high level specialists, and the key objective now is to unite them in order to create cybersecurity center. Work should begin on terms of cooperation and we are open to constructive proposals”- said Deputy Director General of STIF “Ukrinmash” Dmytro Budorin.

The SC “UkrOboronProm” pays special attention to cybersecurity, doing everything possible to attract international experience in this field to Ukraine.
