FMV has ordered 18 combat boats from Dockstavarvet. The boats will be a continuation of the brand-protected Stridsbåt 90 HS series.

The new boats will be called Stridsbåt 90HSM, where the M stands for modernization. This includes upgraded driveline, upgraded protection, the ability to work with weapons from tires, and preparation for new management systems and weapons stations. The estimated life of the new combat boats is beyond 2040.

The order value amounts to approximately SEK 400 million and includes 18 boats including documentation, training, spare parts and options. The first boat will be delivered in the third quarter of 2018.

Combat Boat 90 is in service in the earlier H and HS versions. They are used by the Amphibious Department, Navy bases, and Home Security. Stridsbåt 90 HSM will be operated by the Amphibious Battalion.
