It is a fresh-faced fifty year old who will welcome thousands of visitors from across the world on October 23-26 at the Parc des Expositions in Le Bourget near Paris. Created in 1968, the Euronaval show has grown over the years to become an unmissable event for experts in the naval defense, maritime safety and security industries. Thales will naturally play a leading role once again this year.

Since the previous edition in 2016, the growing escalation in tensions in different zones of the globe has led to a significant acceleration in the capacities of navies and coast guards. Moreover, the level of threats that naval units have and will have to face has also increased considerably: cyber aggressions, hyper-fast anti-ship missiles, ever more silent submarines, very high velocity torpedoes, stealth aircraft, swarm attacks, and attacks by small craft or USV and drones, mines, etc.

In this context, Thales has established itself as a major player in the sector through the Group’s global nature: global by its international dimension, by the spectrum of its activities - from sensors to complete systems -, global, finally, through its “end-to-end” capabilities, from the conception to the support of fleets. A designer of sensors and effectors of excellence, Thales is also an integrator that provides its clients with expertise in both purely military as well as dual (civil / military) systems and systems of systems.

In addition to the excellence of its sensors, Thales is the only defence company that masters the major technologies that will make the difference in tomorrow’s naval operations: big data, AI, connectivity and cybersecurity. Its strong innovation capabilities provide customers with either sources of savings, or effect multipliers and factors of military superiority in operations.

For all these reasons, Thales knows exactly how to accompany its clients in the naval domain at each decisive moment.
