Egyptian KATO Investment and "Irkut" Corporation Agreed to Cooperate On the Project of the MS-21

During Dubai Airshow 2015 Airshow head of the Egyptian Holding KATO Investment, Ibrahim Kamel, and President of PJSC "Corporation" Irkut," Oleg Demchenko, signed documents on cooperation on the project MS-21.

As part of the cooperation agreement for the purchase of airline Cairo Aviation (a subsidiary KATO Investment) six MC-21 aircraft. The agreement also includes an option for four aircraft MS-21.

At the initiative of Ibrahim Kamel party consider the establishment of a regional center for repair and maintenance of aircraft MS-21 in the vicinity of the international airport of Al-Alamein (Al Alamain) 184 km from Cairo. KATO Investment intends to transfer free area adjacent to the airport, to accommodate production facilities. Organization of the center will create additional conditions for the promotion of the MS-21 in the countries of the region.

KATO Investment - a major private investment holding company, which has diversified business in Egypt and beyond. Holding specializes in the production of consumer goods, agriculture, tourism, air transport, airport services. The composition of KATO Investment includes more than 20 major companies. Airline Cairo Aviation operates a Russian aircraft Tu-204.

Corporation "Irkut" (as part of the KLA) as the lead performer is implementing a project to establish short- medium-liner MS-21. The plane was designed in the Engineering Center. Yakovlev - mainly engineering departments of PJSC "Corporation" Irkut ". The plant in Irkutsk built the first MC-21 aircraft for flight and strength tests.
