Rolls-Royce Completes Purchase of National Airmotive
;RESTON, Va.--- Rolls-Royce plc, the civil aerospace, defense, marine and energy group, has completed, following receipt of formal regulatory approval, the purchase of Oakland, California-based National Airmotive Corporation, one of America's leading aero and industrial engine repair and overhaul businesses. On September 9, 1999, Rolls-Royce and First Aviation Services Inc. announced they had reached an agreement for Rolls-Royce to acquire National for $73 million.
With the addition of National, which will be known as Rolls-Royce Engine Services - Oakland Inc., the Rolls-Royce repair and overhaul network now comprises 15 facilities either wholly or partly owned, on four continents, servicing 48 different types of engines for more than 400 operators every year. Engine Services -- Oakland opens new markets for Rolls-Royce as well as strengthening the company's position in both the aviation and industrial sectors.
