This week the Royal Brunei Armed Forces has confirmed the selection of Alvis Vehicles Limited, UK, to dieselise and upgrade its fleet of Scorpion Combat Vehicle Reconnaissance (Tracked) (CVR(T)) vehicles.
This announcement follows competition over the last two years. The decision to select the Alvis solution followed extensive in-country testing of vehicles.
The program will be undertaken over the next two years and will include the provision of kits by Alvis Vehicles and conversion in-country in conjunction with locally recruited and trained personnel.
1. Brunei is the fourth country to select the Alvis Vehicles Limited's Cummins B series engine solution. 2. The Armies of UK, Oman and Jordan have also selected the Alvis dieselisation upgrade option for their CVR(T) fleets. 3. The Alvis CVR(T) dieselisation upgrade is the only one approved by the UK MoD. 4. Alvis Vehicles Limited is based in Telford, UK and is wholly owned by Alvis plc.
