ATK, Lockheed Compete for New Missile Warner

--Lockheed Martin Corp., Missiles and Fire Control, Orlando, Fla., is being awarded a $33,105,474 cost-plus-incentive-fee contract for the technology demonstration phase for the Joint and Allied Threat Awareness System for the design, development and demonstration of a prototype for an advanced missile warning system to be installed on U.S. Navy and Marine Corps aircraft to increase survivability in hostile environments.
Work will be performed in Orlando, Fla., (79 percent); Dallas, Texas, (12 percent); and Danbury, Conn., (9 percent), and is expected to be completed in January 2011. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.
This contract was competitively procured via an electronic request for proposals; three offers were received.
The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity (N00019-09-C-0099).

Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.
