Air New Zealand Acquires One More ATR (July 25)



FARNBOROUGH U K --- Air New Zealand and Avions de Transport Régional (ATR) today announced the acquisition of one additional new generation 66 seats ATR 72-500 turboprop aircraft.

Paolo Revelli-Beaumont, ATR Senior Vice President Commercial said : "I am delighted by the decision of Air New Zealand to develop its ATR fleet. It is a great sign of confidence in our product and in our company."

With this new order, Air New Zealand will operate a total ATR fleet of 9 ATR 72-500.

Air New Zealand is a member of Star Alliance, which regroups 14 airlines in the world, currently operating a total of 66 ATR aircraft.

Since the beginning of the program, ATR has sold 666 aircraft (369 ATR 42 and 297 ATR 72) and delivered 642 aircraft (366 ATR 42 and 276 ATR).

Toulouse, France-based ATR, number 1 in turboprops in the 40 to 70 seat market segment, is a European joint venture between Finmeccanica/Alenia Aeronautica and EADS (European Aeronautic Defense and Space Company).
