Reflectone Receives Contract from U.S. Navy to Provide Helicopter Simulator Maintenance
TAMPA, Fla.--- Reflectone, a British Aerospace company, today announced the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division (NAWC-TSD) has awarded the company a $1.6 million contract option. Under terms of the contract, Reflectone will provide maintenance and logistics support for the Navy's helicopter flight simulators and training devices.
This contract option is the second year of a five-year contract and the seventh year Reflectone has provided simulator maintenance and logistics support for the Navy's helicopter training squadrons.
Reflectone personnel will provide maintenance and logistics support services at several Naval Air Stations (NAS). At NAS Norfolk, Va., Reflectone will maintain the Navy's MH-53 Operational Flight Trainer. At NAS North Island near San Diego, Calif., Reflectone will maintain several training devices, including Operational Flight Trainers for the SH-60F, SH-3H, and CH-46 helicopters. Reflectone will also service maintenance training devices and simulators for the SH-60F and SH-3H helicopters at NAS Jacksonville, Fla.
"A growing trend in the simulation and training market is the outsourcing of a variety of training support services, including maintenance and logistics support," said Darrell White, senior director of training support services, Reflectone. "We have a great deal of experience maintaining rotary wing simulators and we're pleased the Navy has shown continued confidence in our capabilities by awarding Reflectone this contract."
