Paradigm Systems Technology (Pty) Ltd - a British Aerospace joint venture company - has launched an upgrade to its enterprise logistic management software system, EPMS, which enhances the functionality available for the logistic support of military operations.
EPMS reduces life-cycle costs and improves levels of asset availability. Equally effective within base workshops or at the forward edge of battle, or within single-service or tri-service environments, it enables users to manage complex equipment in the aerospace and defence fields with world-class effectiveness.
EPMS embodies a proven software concept ensuring the efficient acquisition, storage, movement, distribution and maintenance of materiel. Key sub-systems include engineering management and material management.
EPMS is the basis of the programmes enjoying successful employment with branches of the British, French and South African armed forces. It also forms the basis of the British Aerospace solution for the new Bowman Logistic Information System (BLIS), which will support the efficient deployment and in-service use of the extensive assets to be provided to the British Army within that £2 billion programme.
Simon Dowler, managing director of Paradigm said: "Modern military planning for expeditionary operations demands world-class logistics solutions. Our enhanced EPMS offers benchmark capability, radically enhances operational efficiency and generates significant through-life cost efficiencies.
