Dubai Air Show: Bombardier Aerospace Sells Challenger 04 to Royal Jordanian Air Force
DUBAI, UNITED ARABS EMIRATES---Bombardier Aerospace today announced that it has sold two widebody Challenger(r) 604 business jet aircraft to the Royal Jordanian Air Force.
"We are honored to be selected to serve the transportation requirements of the Government of Jordan and the Royal Jordanian Air Force,'' declared John Lawson, president, sales, Bombardier Aerospace, Business Aircraft. "This latest sale is a breakthrough for us in Jordan, it is especially satisfying for Bombardier as it marks a departure from the squadron's previous fleet,'' continued Mr. Lawson. "The Challenger's combination of outstanding acquisition value, low operating economics and widebody cabin comfort won the day.''
The first aircraft was delivered into completion a month ago and is expected to enter service with the RJAF VIP squadron in the second quarter of 2000. The second will be delivered by the end of January 2000.
The Challenger 604 has the widest cabin of any true business jet available today-eight feet, two inches wide (2.49 m) - and has comfortable stand-up room at six feet, one inch (1.85 m). Its widebody cabin provides corporate and government leaders with a quiet and comfortable ambiance in which to work and rest. It is proving increasingly popular as a head-of-state aircraft and is currently used in that role by numerous governments worldwide.
A total of 476 Challenger aircraft have been delivered to date. These include some 133 Challenger 604 jets, the current production model, which is the best-selling jet in its class.
TAG Aeronautics, a subsidiary of the TAG Group S.A., is an exclusive representative and distributor in 22 Middle East and Arab countries for the Challenger 604, Canadair Special Edition, the Bombardier Global Express, the Canadair Regional Jet and the new CRJ Series 700 airliner.
