Logicon To Provide Training Products And Services To U.S. Army Training XXI
;HERNDON, Va.---Logicon Inc., a Northrop Grumman Corporation company, leads one of four contractor teams selected by the U.S. Army to develop and provide training products and services to Army Training XXI.
The five-year Distributed Learning contract (DLXXI) was awarded by the Army's Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), Fort Eustis, Va. For Logicon, this indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract has a potential first-year value of $70 million, and a cumulative value of $370 million, if all options are exercised.
TRADOC developed the Army Training XXI concept to ensure training is included in every phase of the Army's Force XXI program. Force XXI is the total Army concept to redesign the service. Army Training XXI integrates all ongoing initiatives and future development efforts to produce a coherent, integrated training system and strategy for Force XXI.
As TRADOC's multimedia contractor for the past six years, Logicon developed training products and systems for Army schools. Now, Logicon will add extensive information systems and systems engineering expertise to its training development capabilities. Through this contract, Logicon will evaluate, analyze, design, develop, implement and manage products and services for Army Training XXI.
Logicon's Information Solutions unit, headquartered in Herndon, will lead the DLXXI effort. Work will be performed by its Enterprise Engineering Solutions organization in Reston, Va., with support from its satellite office in Newport News, Va. Work on the program is expected to be complete in 2004.
