AMS has successfully completed Phase One and been qualified by the Canadian Government to participate in the bid program for a Command Team Trainer for the Victoria Class Submarine. The purpose of this trainer will be to provide the Victoria Class Control Room Team with the means to develop the skills needed to create an effective submarine operations team in a realistically simulated, multi-threat, multi-platform, time stressed environment.
AMS has supplied all of the Command Team Trainers for the UK's Royal Navy surface ship, submarine and mine hunters. This included a contract to the UK MoD for an Upholder Class Submarine Trainer. The Upholder Class submarine, following its withdrawal from UK Royal Navy service and transfer to Canada is now known as Victoria Class.
AMS has provided the three systems currently in Royal Navy submarine training service for the Vanguard, Swiftsure and Trafalgar Classes. The Company is also currently developing the Submarine Command Team Trainer for the Astute Class. This is under a contract from the FAST Consortium, in support of the Astute Class Training Service, being provided by FAST under a PFI Contract with the UK MoD.
