In ASIAN AEROSPACE, Aerospatiale Matra, together with its subsidiaries - Eurocopter, Matra BAe Dynamics, Matra Marconi Space, Socata - and its partners from Airbus Industrie and ATR will present the key products of the European aeronautical, defense and space industry:

More than 900 Airbus have already been ordered by Asian airlines. In Singapore area, main Airbus operators were, at the end of 1,999, Singapore Airlines (53 orders), S.A.L.E. (39 orders), Aerostar (12 orders), Silkair (8 orders), Kawasaki Leasing International (8 orders).
63 of the 88 ATR aircraft delivered to 13 Asia/Pacific airlines are in operation in the area.. In 1999, the first ATR 72-500's have been respectively delivered to Air New Zealand, to replace its ATR fleet, and to Jet Airways, first private airline in India.
Eurocopter, the Aerospatiale Matra/ Daimler Chrysler Aerospace subsidiary present in Asia/Pacific for more than 30 years is today the leader in the area with 36 % of the helicopters fleet in operation in the area are Eurocopter's aircraft, specifically with EC155, AS365 and EC120. Eurocopter also has subsidiaries and local participations in Singapore (Eurocopter South East Asia), Japan (Eurocopter Japan), Malaysia (Euro Aircraft Services Sdn Bhd), Philippines (Eurocopter Philippines) and Australia/New Zealand (Eurocopter Pacific).
Aster missiles, and their anti-air/anti-missiles systems, MICA, air-to-air multi-missions missile, ASRAAM air-to-air short range, Meteor, European project air-to-air long range missile and Scalp/Storm Shadow cruise missiles will be jointly presented by Matra BAe Dynamics and Aerospatiale Matra Missiles. Beyond solutions proposed to air forces, Aerospatiale Matra missiles systems for naval and ground-forces will also be exhibited (Exocet and Eryx). Matra Marconi Space, the leading European satellites manufacturer is involved in many Asian Space programs with telecommunications satellites (ST-1, for Singapore Telecom and Chunghwa Telecom of Taïwan, Asiastar which will be launched in March 2,000 by Ariane 505, and Koreasat), earth observation satellites (Leostar small satellite platform and Spot) and ground systems (two 9m C-band TV uplink antennas delivered to Singapore Technologies PTE and complete ground control stations with 9m-Cband and 6.1mC and Ku-band antennas to Hong Kong, Korea and Taïwan).
Matra Nortel Communications is now deploying in Singapore an integrated Tetrapol all-digital radio-communication network and digital line switching system for operational and internal needs of the Police Forces, the Civil defense and the Narcotic Bureau.
