Northrop Grumman Wins $15.4 Million Contract For UK Submarine Torpedo Defense System
;ANNAPOLIS, Md. --- Northrop Grumman Corporation's Oceanic and Naval Systems unit has been awarded a $15.4 million contract from Alenia Marconi Systems of Frimley, Surrey U.K., to design, manufacture and test the detection, classification, localization and threat evaluation (DCL/TE) subsystem for the Submarine Acoustic Warfare Control System (SAWCS), the United Kingdom's next generation torpedo defense system. ;The work will be performed at Northrop Grumman's Oceanic and Naval Systems facility here. Northrop Grumman will begin delivering subsystems to Alenia Marconi Systems in 2001 for integration into SAWCS.
