Department of Defense Completes Review of BF Goodrich/Coltec Merger
;RICHFIELD, Ohio --- The BFGoodrich Company confirmed today that the Department of Defense has notified the company that it has no objections to the proposed merger of BFGoodrich and Coltec Industries Inc. ;Terrence G. Linnert, BFGoodrich senior vice president and general counsel, said, "We understand the extremely careful review process performed by the Department of Defense and are pleased that such an important customer has cleared the way for the Federal Trade Commission to act.'' ;Both BFGoodrich and Coltec continue to cooperate with the Federal Trade Commission and anticipate a ruling in the near future. BFGoodrich and Coltec have scheduled special shareholder meetings on April 9, 1999 to approve the merger.
