U.S. Will Sell Aircraft Spare Parts Worth 350 Million Dollars to South Korea

;Mumbai, March 26 -- -Mazgaon Dock Ltd, one of India's prestigious dockyards, and the defence ministry of Poland are jointly bidding for a Rs. 300-crore ship-building project for the Indian Navy.
;According to highly-placed sources, Poland will provide the design and technical know-how, apart from critical equipment to build the ship, while Mazgaon Dock will implement the proposed order through its personnel. This will not be a mainline war ship as Mazgaon Dock does not have the space to build such huge ships. "We are bidding for a ship which will be of medium size and will be a supporting ship for the main war ships," sources said.
;Mr. Romuald Szeremietiew, Poland's first deputy minister of national defence, who is on a visit here, visited the Mazgaon Dock and discussed the deal with senior officials.
;At a dinner hosted by the All India Association of Industries on Thursday, Mr. Szeremietiew, however, did not reveal details about the deal. He only said: "We had talks with senior defence ministry officials to supply defence equipment and the discussions are satisfactory." During his three-day visit to New Delhi earlier this week, Mr. Szeremietiew met many defence officials, apart from political leaders.
;Mr. Szeremietiew said the Prime Minister of Poland was very interested in boosting trade and economic relations with India.
;He said, "Poland can offer many products and modern technology in various fields, including defence, and importation of many Indian goods. Over the past 50 years, Poland has been delivering power plants, mining equipment and services, engineering goods, equipment and services for the oil and gas industry, ships, engines for ocean going vessels, raw materials like sulphur, fertilisers and steel products to India."
;Earlier, AIAI president Vijay G. Kalantri called for further bilateral trade between Poland and India. He said India could export engineering goods, textile and hard tools to Poland.
