GDI Simulation delivers its first STC Leclerc New-Generation Tactical Engagement Simulator

;NEUILLY, France --- Having won the contract for the Leclerc tank tactical engagement simulator, GDI Simulation has just delivered the first set of 41 Leclerc STC to its customer, GIAT Industries. This equipment is intended for the French Army and for export.
;The new simulator is designed for the precision gunnery and tactical training of Leclerc tank crews and will be used for home station exercises or within Combat Training Centers. This simulator uses a technology specifically tailored to firing on the move at stationary or moving targets.
;Turret-mounted and connected to the tank information system, this simulator complies with the characteristics of the tank weaponry in terms of range and precision and in terms of fire control system. Simulation is totally transparent for the crew, the weapon system is used as if actual firing were taking place.
;The results of the engagement are recorded to provide off-line analysis. When being used in a combat training center, the results can be analyzed in real time by the exercise control station of the center in order to directly follow up force-on-force training.
;The delivery of a second set of 66 simulators to GIAT Industries is already scheduled for 1999.

;GDI Simulation will exhibit a broad range of simulators covering nearly all land force weapons systems at the ITEC trade show.
