Boeing Wins GPS IIF Contract (Sept. 8)

The Boeing Co., Seal Beach, Calif., is being awarded a $65,221,269 cost-plus-award-fee/firm-fixed-price contract modification.

An acquisition decision memorandum, dated May 2000, which directed development of a program to meet full modernization requirements to include space segment, control segment and user equipment, prompted the rebaselining of the Global Positioning System IIF contract in order to recognize actual work performed through December 2002 (firm-fixed-price contract line item numbers (CLINs) 0001-004, 0011-0012 and 0100-0105) and add work yet to be accomplished to CLIN 0005 (Modernization Development), CLIN 0008 (OSC/MOSC Development), CLIN 0111 (SVs 1-3 Production) and CLIN 0112 (SVs 2-4 Production), which are cost-plus-award-fee CLINs.

The value of work yet to be accomplished included cost for labor, award fees, requests for equitable adjustments from subcontractors and profit. At this time, $27,140,000 of the funds has been obligated. Further funds will be obligated as individual delivery orders are issued. This work will be complete by October 2007. Negotiations were completed by June 2003.

Headquarters Space and Missile Systems Center, Los Angeles Air Force Base, Calif., is the contracting activity (F04701-96-C-0025, P00192)
