Airbus, Boeing Will Split Air India Order (Nov. 10)
The Air India Board today at its meeting held in Delhi, considered the report of the in-house Techno-Economic Negotiating Committee and decided to recommend to the Ministry of Civil Aviation acquisition of 10 long range and 18 short range aircraft for Air India.
The ten long-range aircraft being recommended are Airbus 340.
For the 18 short-range aircraft, Boeing-737-800 aircraft has been recommended.
Both these aircraft shall be powered by CFM Engines.
The total project cost of these replacement/acquisition aircraft will be approximately Rs.10,000 crores
