Another test of the Arrow" weapon system was conducted today (14.9.2000) at the Israeli Airforce test site.
The test was a regular system test against a ""Black Sparrow"" target. The target was launched toward the shores of Israel, to simulate a tactical ballistic missile.
Initial results indicate that all components of the weapon system: the ""Green Pine"" radar, the ""Citron Tree"" fire control center and the ""Arrow"" missile performed as planned. All the test objectives were achieved and the target was destroyed.
Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI)/MLM Division is the prime contractor for the Arrow Weapon System, as well as the developer of the missile and launcher. TADIRAN Systems is the developer of the ""Citron Tree"" fire control center. IAI/ELTA is the developer of the ""Green Pine"" radar and RAFAEL Israel Armament Authority is the developer of the ""Black Sparrow"" target.
The test brings the Arrow II success record to seven out of eight tests and three out of three system tests.
Israel and the USA mutually funded the system development. The program is managed by the Israeli Missile Defense Organization in close cooperation with the Ballistic Missile Defense Organization and ARMY PEO-AMD of the USA.
