Boeing Wins $460M C-17 Support Contract (Mar. 1)

McDonnell Douglas Corp., Long Beach, Calif., is being awarded a $460,955,541 firm-fixed-price contract modification to provide for sustainment of the fleet of C-17 aircraft from March 2004 through September 2004.

Approximately three percent of this effort supports foreign military sales to the United Kingdom.

Performance work not included in the initial letter contract is the performance of material improvement projects identified in fiscal year 2004 and additional airworthiness studies for the United Kingdom C-17 fleet. Each of these two requirements is established under time and material line items with not-to-exceed ceiling amounts.

The locations of performance are McDonnell Douglas Corp., Long Beach, Calif.; Pratt & Whitney, Cheshire, Conn.; and other locations. At this time, $403,062,616 of the funds have been obligated. Further funds will be obligated as individual delivery orders are issued. This work will be complete by September 2004. Solicitation began January 2003, and negotiations were completed November 2003.

Headquarters Aeronautical Systems Center, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, is the contracting activity.
