Aeronavali Delivers Second MD-11 Freighter (Nov. 21)

Aeronavali, a Finmeccanica company coordinated by Alenia Aerospazio, delivered a second MD-11 to Boeing after the conversion from Passenger to Freighter.

The conversion has been accomplished by Aeronavali in the frame of a contract with Boeing for the conversion of 11 MD-11 aircraft.

The delivery represents another important achievement for Aeronavali, strengthening its leadership in the OEM aircraft modification market.

The agreement between Boeing and Aeronavali is managed by Boeing Airplane Services, part of The Boeing Company organisation, which offers the aviation industry's broadest array of support resources.

With annual average revenues of around USD 180 Million, Aeronavali employs, today, approximately 1600 people at its Venice, Naples and Brindisi facilities. For over 50 years the company has been performing maintenance and modification work on military and commercial aircraft including the DC-8, DC-10, MD-11, B727, B707, A300, ATR, Atlantic, G222, C130 and NATO B707 "AWACS".

The delivery to Boeing of this MD-11 cargo confirms the effectiveness of Aeronavali's commercial strategy aimed at expanding the company's presence in the highly competitive commercial aircraft market while retaining a significant presence in the military sector.
