CHARLOTTE, N.C. --- General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products, a business unit of General Dynamics, has received two orders with a combined value of $8 million for production of 9,000 M2HB.50 caliber gun barrels from U.S. Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command, Rock Island, Ill.
These orders bring the total quantity of.50 caliber M2HB barrels ordered in 2004 to 10,800 and extend production deliveries through 2005. All work will be performed at General Dynamics’ Saco, Maine, facility.
General Dynamics has been a leading supplier of gun barrels to the U.S. Department of Defense for more than 50 years, producing a wide variety of gun barrels, from the 7.62mm M60 to the 40mm MK19. General Dynamics barrels are in use on a variety of U.S. fighter aircraft including the A-10, F-14, F-15, F-16, F/A-18 and F-22.
