AMS Wins Egyptian Navy Upgrades (Mar. 30)
Alenia Marconi Systems (AMS) has been awarded a contract by the Armament Authority of Egypt for the upgrade of the Egyptian Navy's OTOMAT missiles, originally supplied in the early 1980's.
The contract which will be completed in approximately 65 months, is for the upgrade of the existing missiles to the Italian Navy configuration - OTOMAT MK2.
It also includes the refurbishment and modification of the OTOMAT Launching System along with a number of logistic support items (test benches, spares, training and documentation). (ends)
