HAIFA, Israel---Elbit Systems Ltd., the defense electronics company, today announced that it has signed an agreement with Lockheed Martin Aircraft Argentina S.A. (LMAASA) for the avionics upgrade of the AT-63 Pampa aircraft for the Argentinean Air Force.
Elbit Systems shall act as a subcontractor to LMAASA and will be responsible for the supply and integration of the new avionics system under LMAASA's prime contract with the Government of Argentina.
The value of Elbit Systems' subcontract is approximately US$15 million, to be performed over a period of three years.
This upgrade will provide the Pampa aircraft and the Argentinean Air Force with enhanced capabilities in advanced training and light attack, based on the extensive experience of Elbit Systems in upgrade programs of aircraft, helicopters and advanced trainers worldwide.
Elbit Systems announced that the new contract is in line with its business strategy to expand its activities in Argentina.
