AAC Wins Torpedo Countermeasures Work (May 22)

Advanced Acoustic Concepts, Inc., Ronkonkowma, N.Y., is being awarded a $6,000,000 cost-plus-fixed-fee delivery order to design and develop the Engineering Development Model Tripwire Sensor Processor System, which shall perform active and passive torpedo detection, classification, localization, command control and display capability within the AN/WSQ-11 Torpedo Defense System.

This is expected to be applied to carriers, amphibious assault, and logistics support ships. Work will be performed in Ronkonkowma, N.Y., and is expected to be completed by June 2003. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was not competitively procured. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity (N00024-00-D-6106).
