Bath, Ingalls Wins Aegis Destroyer Contracts (June 6)



Bath Iron Works Corp., Bath, Maine, and Ingalls Shipbuilding Inc., Pascagoula, Miss., are each being awarded a $154,974,000 not-to-exceed letter contract for acquisition of advance procurement economic order quantity equipment in support of the anticipated fiscal year 2002 through 2004 six-ship multiyear procurement of DDG 51 Class Aegis Destroyers (DDG 102 through DDG 107).

Work will be performed in Bath, Maine (50%), and Pascagoula, Miss. (50%), and is expected to be completed by December 2005.

Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. These contracts were not competitively procured.

The Naval Sea Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity (BIW - N00024-01-C-2307; ISI - N00024-01-C-2308). (ends)
