Bad Weather Delays Genesis Launch (Aug 3)

At about 6:00 a.m. EDT, officials decided to stand down today's launch of a Boeing Delta II rocket carrying NASA's Genesis spacecraft, due to adverse weather conditions including strong winds.

A 24-hour turnaround has been initiated with the next window of opportunity on Friday, August 3rd at 12:23 p.m. EDT. Mission managers will meet tonight to determine if the weather will permit a launch on Friday. Contact the Boeing Launch Hotline on 714-896-4770 for continued updates.
