SÃO JOSÉ DOS CAMPOS, Brazil --- Embraer announced today that AeroRepública of Bogotá, Colombia, has placed a firm order for five EMBRAER 190s with options for an additional 20 aircraft. Deliveries will begin in November 2006. AeroRepública will be the first to fly the very comfortable, modern and fuel-efficient new Embraer aircraft in the Colombian market.
The airline will configure the aircraft with 108 seats in a single class layout. The EMBRAER 190s will be used to serve AeroRepública’s domestic routes and to develop international markets. The E-Jets will also play a role in AeroRepública’s new strategic partnership with Copa Airlines of Panama (which also operates the EMBRAER 190) to expand its network and coordinate flight schedules and jointly offer more frequencies and destinations to travelers.

According to Roberto Junguito, President of AeroRepública, the selection of the EMBRAER 190 was a key element in the company’s strategic plan. “We were looking for a new-generation airplane that provides the best comfort level and reliability clients require, with outstanding fuel efficiency and general economics. The EMBRAER 190 also gives us the right size capacity and range performance we need as part of our current operation and expansion plans.”
With AeroRepública’s announcement, Embraer E-Jets have been ordered by or are operating for 17 airlines in 15 countries, having attracted 62 firm orders and options in Latin America. As of December 31, 2005, the E-Jets orderbook totaled 440 firm orders and 362 options.
