Elbit Systems Selected in $10 Million Contract to Supply Avionics Systems for Embraer's AMX-T Aircraft for the Venezuelan Air Force
HAIFA, Israel---Elbit Systems Ltd. announced today that it has been selected by Embraer, the Brazilian aircraft manufacturer, to supply avionics systems for the AMX-T aircraft for the Venezuelan Air Force. Embraer was recently selected to supply the Venezuelan Air Force with eight AMX-T, an advanced fighter and lead-in trainer aircraft, with the possibility of supplying an additional 24 aircraft. Elbit Systems' contract for the avionics of the eight aircraft is valued at approximately $10 million and is expected to be delivered over a period of three years. The Company intends to finalize the terms of the contract with Embraer shortly. The avionics systems to be supplied to Embraer by Elbit Systems will include the central processor, the display systems, and the stores management systems. Elbit Systems has previously developed and supplied avionics systems to Embraer for the Brazilian Air Force's Super Tucano ALX aircraft, which commenced its initial flights earlier this year. Elbit Systems Ltd. is engaged in a wide range of defense-related airborne, ground and command, control and communications ("C3'') programs throughout the world. The Company focuses on upgrading of existing military platforms and developing new technologies for defense applications.
