DHB Capital Group Inc. Exceeds $33 Million Mark in U.S. Military Orders; U.S. Marine Corps Places Additional $2.5 Million Order for Interceptor Vests

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. --- DHB Capital Group Inc. announced that its Point Blank Body Armor subsidiary has received an additional $2.5 Million production order from the U.S. Army Material Command Acquisition Center for the Company's "Interceptor Tactical Vest.''
This new production order, earmarked specifically for the U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Army, raises the total value of 1999 purchase orders from the U.S. Military to over $33 Million. Over the next five years, the total value of the U.S. Marine Corps contract is expected to exceed $150 Million.
The Interceptor Outer Tactical Vest (OTV) represents a major performance enhancement and advantage for the U.S. Marines. The Interceptor System increases the level of fragmentation and ballistic protection while dramatically reducing the overall weight of the vest. Designed as a continually upgradable modular, soft body armor system, the OTV consists of a base vest, collar assembly, throat protector and groin protector. The system is fully capable of accommodating both a front and back hard armor plate. According to the U.S. Marine Corps publication "Leatherneck,'' the Marines anticipate ordering over 172,000 Interceptor Vests for standard issue purposes, plus another 42,000 for the reserves.
"Our ability to consistently perform up to, and in many cases beyond, the expectations of the U.S. Marine Corps continues to pay dividends for the Company,'' stated Mr. Al Price, Director of Research and Development and IPT Team Leader for the Interceptor Contract. "We are very confident that our ability to meet the growing needs of the Marine Corps will result in the full execution of the current contract and may lead to other, significant opportunities with additional branches of the U.S. Military.''
DHB Capital Group Inc. is the parent company of three operating groups:
**The Armor Group, consisting of four individual subsidiaries focused on the design, manufacture and international distribution of bullet-resistant and protective body armor for military, law enforcement and corrections. Contracts with Government agencies including, among others, The U.S. Marine Corps, The U.S. Army, The U.S. Secret Service, the FBI, New York City Police Department, Los Angeles Police Department & SWAT makes The Armor Group the leader in their industry.
