Anglo-French Carrier Project Not Ready

A newspaper has claimed that the MOD wants Britain and France to share the building of Navy aircraft carriers.

The newspaper goes on to quote Minister for Defence Procurement Lord Drayson saying that such co-operation would only make sense: "if as a result we end up with a better outcome on cost and a better outcome in terms of long term viability of the UK shipbuilding industry."

The MOD remains committed to the joint carrier programme and continues to push hard for progress, but we're not there yet.
