MARIGNANE, France --- After an international call for tenders, the Kuwaiti Ministry of the Interior has chosen the EC-135 lightweight, twin-engined helicopter to equip its Air Transport Department.
With a contract for two helicopters, the Kuwaiti government, whose armed forces already operate helicopters from the Eurocopter range, has thus renewed its confidence in the French-German group. These two EC-135 helicopters are specifically earmarked for parapublic missions.
This new order thus confirms that the EC-135 is ideally suited for this type of mission. Sixteen police forces around the world have already ordered this new-generation, multipurpose helicopter.
The EC-135 is the quietest twin-engined helicopter in its category. Its design combines composite materials with leading technology and thanks to the philosophy ands organization of its maintenance, makes it a highly reliable, low-maintenance helicopter.
All these features have made the EC-135 a resounding commercial success in that to date orders have been received for some 160 helicopters and approximately 100 have already been delivered.
