Raytheon Awarded a $58.5 Million U.S. Navy Contract for Radar Warning System Logistics Support
GOLETA, Calif.---Raytheon Company has been awarded a $58.5 million contract to provide spare parts and repair and support services for the AN/ALR-67(V)3 radar warning receiver system for the U.S. Navy's F/A-18E/F aircraft.
The Direct Vendor Delivery (DVD) contract, awarded by the Naval Inventory Control Point (NAVICP) organization, is a result of a joint NAVICP and Naval Air Systems Command initiative to reduce life cycle support costs and guarantee product availability, timely delivery, reliability growth, technology insertion and inventory management. The award represents the first time a DVD support contract has been planned and implemented prior to a system being fielded, and it is the highest dollar DVD contract in NAVICP history. The contract has a period of performance of six years, with an additional five-year program option potentially worth $144 million. Work will be performed by Raytheon Systems Company's Electronic Warfare Operation, Goleta, Calif.
The AN/ALR-67(V)3 system is an electronic radar warning receiver that provides advanced techniques to detect radar emitters, thereby enhancing the survivability of aircraft equipped with the system. This fourth generation system has been selected as the standard radar warning receiver on the U.S. Navy F/A-18 C/D and E/F front-line, carrier-based tactical aircraft.
It is designed to enhance the survivability of aircrews by providing improved situational awareness in today's complex electronic warfare environments. This includes emitter identification, extended capabilities in detection and processing, threat location and potential lethality.

Additional Technical Details: The AN/ALR-67(V)3 interfaces with the onboard suppression and defensive systems via data exchanged over the electronic warfare multiplex bus and High-Speed Anti-Radiation Missile Data bus. It provides signal detection, direction finding, and identification of radio frequency and millimeter wave threat emitters, including scanning, pulse doppler and continuous wave tracking, acquisition and early warning radar and missile guidance.
