Reflectone Awarded Contract from U.S. Navy to Provide Flight Simulation Instruction
REFLECTONE, a British Aerospace company, has announced that the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division (NAWC-TSD) has awarded the company a $3.8 million contract option. Under terms of the contract, Reflectone will provide flight simulation instruction for the U.S. Navy's Atlantic Fleet readiness training squadrons.
This contract option is the fourth year of a five-year contract and the eighth year Reflectone has provided flight simulation instruction to the Navy and Marine Corps.
Reflectone personnel will provide the instruction to the Navy at several Naval Air Stations (NAS), including NAS Oceana in Virginia Beach, Va.; NAS Norfolk, Va.; NAS Jacksonville, Fla.; and NAS North Island near San Diego, Calif. Navy crews will receive flight training on the F/A-18 Hornet, F-14 Tomcat, E-2C Hawkeye, S-3B Viking, MH-53 Sea Dragon, SH-60B/F Seahawk, and SH-3H Sea King.
The Marine Corps will receive instruction from Reflectone personnel at the Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) base in Cherry Point, N.C. and MCAS New River, N.C. Reflectone will also provide flight instruction at the Marine Corps Base Hawaii (MCBH) in Kaneohe Bay. Marine Corps crews will receive flight training on the AV-8B Harrier, KC-130 Hercules, EA-6B Prowler, and AH-1W Cobra.

"We are pleased the Navy has renewed this contract so we can continue to provide comprehensive flight training and a high level of service."

Reflectone is one of the business units within British Aerospace's Training Services organisation.
