On 23 May, the F-35 will come to the Netherlands for the first time.

Defence will have the Netherlands' latest fighter aircraft temporarily stationed so the people living close to the current F-16 air bases in Leeuwarden and Volkel can compare the noise levels.

The test aircraft will stay in the Netherlands for three weeks, and may be joined on its flight to Leeuwarden on Monday by the second test aircraft.

The aircraft will also be on display at the static show of the Royal Netherlands Air Force Open Days to be held at Leeuwarden Air Base on 10 and 11 June.
