PARIS --- The Directorate General of Armaments (DGA) has awarded Nexter, Arquus and Thales, working together as part of the Multi-Role Armored Vehicle (EBMR) temporary consortium of companies (GME), an order for the fourth conditional tranche (TC4) of the EBMR contract, within the framework of the SCORPION program.
This tranche includes to 88 Jaguar armored reconnaissance and combat vehicles and 302 additional Griffon multi-role armored vehicles. This new order will bring the number of Jaguar and Griffon ordered to 150 and 909 respectively, in accordance with the objective set by the military programming law (LPM) 2019-2025.
This represents half of the total number of Jaguar and Griffon (excluding MEPAC) planned under the SCORPION program for the renewal of the median segment of the Army's armored vehicles. In addition, this award closely follows that of the order for 54 Griffon MEPAC, the version equipped with a 120mm mortar, the delivery of which will begin in 2024.
These two awards were announced by the Prime Minister during his visit to the Nexter site in Roanne on February 19. This order is a sign of confidence granted to the GME EBMR manufacturers, who have been able to meet their deadlines since the start of the program.
It provides Nexter, Arquus and Thales, as well as the entire ground defense technological industrial base, with an accurate vision of their industrial activity up to 2025.
