SANA'A, Yemen --- Yemen is planning to acquire the Insitu ScanEagle unmanned air vehicle (UAV) through a proposed United States Navy contract with the manufacturer.
The deal includes just one ScanEagle System. It will consist of nine ScanEagle Electro-Optic and three ScanEagle Infra-red UVAs. The deal also includes a 12 month/3,600 flight hour sustainment package, acceptance testing, spares, technical manuals and training.
The ScanEagle is a low-cost, long-endurance UAV developed by Boeing and The Insitu Group. The UAV, which is four-feet long with a 10-foot wingspan, can remain on station for more than 15 hours.
