Recently, the Army Staff and the Field Warfare School (MSS) conducted a planning internship to discuss the Army's short- and long-term development.
"During these two days, we have jointly laid the foundations for a new plan and continued development of the army. The very well-functioning cooperation between the Army Staff and the MSS has been further strengthened with this," says Brigadier General Rickard Johansson, head of the MSS.
"I am very satisfied with the days. The army staff has done very good basic work and MSS's role in this is to work together with function inspectors and unit commanders towards a continued build-up and development of the army," says Rickard Johansson.
Deputy Chief of Army Staff, Brigadier General Anders Svensson, was present during the closing day.
Why is a new plan needed for the army?
"The upcoming membership in NATO, the war in Ukraine and a global situation that is anything but bright means that we have to think anew and do it quickly," says Anders Svensson, and continues "What I have seen of the work now underway at MSS shows very talented employees who laid the foundation for the new plan in a professional manner. Now the army must show together how we take on the challenges we face."
