MADRID --- The Council of Ministers has authorized the execution of the contract for the acquisition of 8 MH-60R multipurpose helicopters, for an estimated value of 820,515,490.36 euros.
These new aircraft, which will replace the fleet of naval tactical helicopters, currently based on the SH-60B model and which are at the end of their operational life, whose withdrawal is scheduled for 2025, will allow the Navy to meet its needs and update and enhance its capabilities in fulfilling the missions entrusted to it, by having this new technologically more advanced variant, which is an evolution of the aforementioned SH-60B model.
The acquisition of this weapons system also entails the supply of different equipment associated with it and initial logistical support.
