Denmark to Send Another Large Donation Package to Ukraine

COPENHAGEN --- A broad majority in the Folketing supports a large donation package for DKK 1 billion. kroner to Ukraine. The content consists of material specifically requested by Ukraine.

The donation package contains, among other things, ammunition for small arms, heavy machine guns, anti-tank mines and air defense missiles. It is financed by the newly established 'Ukraine Fund', which the Social Democrats, Liberals, Moderates, SF, Danish Democrats, Liberal Alliance, Conservatives, Radical Liberals, Danish People's Party and New Citizens support.

Russia's brutal invasion of Ukraine requires Denmark to continue its support. Therefore, a broad political agreement has been reached on the establishment of the so-called 'Ukraine fund', which will make it possible for Denmark to continue to be one of the most significant contributors in relation to our size.

"I am very happy that a broad majority in the Danish Parliament stands together to help Ukraine with its fight for freedom. It is a large donation package of DKK 1 billion. kroner, which we send. Ukraine lacks ammunition, and the donation package therefore contains material that Ukraine has very specifically requested. I am proud that we in Denmark can meet that wish," says Acting Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen.
