WARSAW --- On February 28, at the headquarters of Huta Stalowa Wola SA and in the presence of polish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Mariusz Błaszczak, a framework agreement will be concluded between the Armaments Agency and the consortium of Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa SA and Huta Stalowa Wola SA for the supply of Borsuk infantry fighting vehicles and specialist variants based on a universal modular tracked platform.

The deputy prime minister will make a speech.

The Borsuk IFV, based on the UMPG universal modular tracked platform, is equipped with a remotely controlled turret system (ZSSW-30). The crew comprises three soldiers: commander, weapons operator and driver. The vehicle is designed to transport six soldiers to the battlefield area, while ensuring an appropriate level of protection.

The vehicle has the ability to fight infantry, armored vehicles, air targets and other objects in all weather conditions and by day and night.

The Borsuk IFV will cooperate very effectively with sub-units of the K2 family tanks, which will equip, among others, of the 16th Mechanized Division.

The Borsuk is characterized by high mobility and the ability to overcome terrain obstacles, including water obstacles by swimming, and can be operated in various climatic conditions. The maximum speed when moving on paved roads is 65 km/h, and for swimming 8 km/h. The combat weight of the vehicle in the basic variant is 28 tons.

A very important element of the Borsuk is the ZSSW-30 remotely controlled turret system developed by Huta Stalowa Wola SA together with WB Electronics SA, whose main weapon is the Bushmaster Mk.44S automatic cannon.

It can fire five different types of ammunition, including programmable rounds. Auxiliary armament, integrated with the turret, is a coaxial modified 7.62mm UKM-2000C machine gun. Additional armament comprises a twin launcher of anti-tank guided missiles.
