The Slovak government has chosen BAE Systems Hägglund's CV90MkIV in its procurement of new combat vehicles.

A joint offer from the Swedish Defense Materiel Administration (FMV) and BAE Systems Hägglunds was submitted on 30 January this year. The offer consists of a commercial part with Hägglunds as seller, and a government part with proposals for collaborations around CV90.

During the spring, the Slovak Ministry of Defense carried out an evaluation in which CV90 (in two different turret variants) placed in both first and second place in the overall evaluation. Negotiations between the Swedish and Slovak parties will now begin, and an agreement is expected to be signed before the turn of the year.

CV90MkIV is the most advanced version of CV90. By taking part in Slovakia's experiences, Sweden and other members of the CV90 User Club can learn lessons ahead of future upgrades of their CV90 and in the development of the next generation of combat vehicles.
