On Wednesday 28 November, an industry cooperation day was held in the Czech capital of Prague. Over 50 representatives of Swedish and Czech companies, agencies and defence industry associations took part.
From Sweden came representatives of FXM, the Defence Materiel Administration (FMV), the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Defence and the Swedish Trade Council.
Acting Director-General Peter Göthe from FXM gave a speech on the importance of partnership and trade between the countries for greater security. The Deputy Head of the Czech General Staff, Major-General Bohuslav Dvořák and his staff gave a detailed account of future Czech needs for equipment.
Ingrid Nilsson, Head of business development at FMV spoke about Swedish equipment needs and showed how companies can find information about, and take part in future Swedish procurement processes. The day was concluded with meetings between Czech and Swedish companies where they were able to hold more in-depth talks on possible cooperation opportunities.
A cooperation agreement was signed between the Swedish industrial organisation, the Swedish Security and Defence Industry association (SOFF) and its Czech counterpart, the Defence and Security Industry Association of the Czech Republic (DSIA).
